Unfortunately, the pool seemed to be the one area where social distancing and masks were not enforced. In addition to the casino and spa, the resort also has two beautiful pools. The Peppermill Resort has a wide variety of amenities and attractions. A view of the pool from our room’s hallway. Hand sanitizer was easily accessible throughout the entire resort. Guests were required to wear masks at all times except while at the pool or while eating. Staff also heavily enforced social distancing protocol. The resort placed social distancing signs all over the property. If a guest ran a fever, they were escorted off the premises. Upon entering the property, each guest was scanned using infrared technology to determine whether or not they had a temperature above 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Be aware the room rates may seem reasonable but the add on fees put the rates in a different light.In June 2020, Stephen and I traveled to Reno, Nevada to spend a night at the Peppermill Resort & Casino!īecause this was our first vacation since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, we were extra careful to select a resort that was careful about preventing the spread of the disease. For what is supposed to be a first class operation it seemed a bit cheap to me. I’ve stayed at numerous hotels both domestic and international and this charge for the coffee was a first for me. I was told the charge was for the coffee. Since I didn’t use room service I questioned the charge. In reviewing my bill at checkout I noticed a $15 dollar room service fee. I found the coffee and made a couple of cups during our stay.

Instructions on how to use the coffee maker are on a card next to the machine which also informs you where the K-cups are since they are not located next to the coffee maker. Like most hotels a single cup coffee maker is in the room. The topper for me was the in room coffee. By the way, the resort fee only covers two devices and each additional device incurs a $14 daily fee. I wasn’t going to use the gym but of course would utilize WiFi which I thought was free. I was also told there is a $40 daily resort fee that entitles us to unlimited use of the gym and in room WiFi. I was told there were, but I would have to pay a $40 early checkin fee. Since there are 4 thousand rooms I asked whether there were any available for early checkin. We tried to check into the hotel around noon and were told checkin is not until 4. The accommodations are fine but there are a few curious extra fees that seemed out of the ordinary to me.
